RAHH (HQA)
Biography
RAHH is an exciting independent artist making strong waves within the UK’s music scene. Hailing from Manchester and heavily influenced by her musical family, RAHH’s unique style is an amalgamation of R&B, soul, electronic and atmospheric pop.
From touring and singing alongside artists such as Liam Gallagher, Miles Kane, Emeli Sande, Dave Stewart, Beverley Knight, Nile Rodgers, JP Cooper and James Morrison, RAHH’s captivating stage presence has not gone unnoticed. Handpicked by some of the scene’s key players, chart-topping duo Joel Corry and MNEK chose her to sing lead for their Head & Heart single campaign and in 2018 RAHH was selected to front Sigala’s string of energetic live shows.
Opening up for legendary singer Bobby McFerrin at Montreux Jazz Festival to a sold-out audience in 2019 remains RAHH’s favourite performance to date. Further cementing her status as a serious one to watch, the show went on to reach thousands of music-fans across the globe when it was later premiered on YouTube.
2022 marked the release of RAHH’s long awaited debut EP ‘I Told You We’d Be Famous’, resulting in radio play and support from key tastemakers including Spotify, Apple Music, Official Charts Company and premieres with Complex and Wonderland. Home, the penultimate track on the EP was featured in author Sally Rooney’s hit BBC Three show Conversations with Friends.
Having created her first demos with producer and songwriter Dave Stewart in LA after hitting it off in a writing session, RAHH proceeded to develop her skills, primarily writing for her own projects before diving headfirst into the world of dance and electronic, toplining under the name HQA in 2020. Within a year HQA had amassed over 3.5 million Spotify streams from collaborations with the likes of PBH & Jack with single ‘Set The Tempo’ and Ryan Blyth’s ‘Never Love Again’, both released on Oliver Heldens’ Heldeep Records.
Summer 2022 marked HQA's first top 5 hit on the UK Upfront Club Charts with the track ‘Dancin’ (Feel Alive)’ alongside Joshua Cooke. Her most recent release, ‘Supposed To Do’ with Robosonic and Jess Bays which came out in November 2022 has since gained support from BBC Radio 1 and has been featured across Spotify’s New Music Friday UK, New Music Dance, New Dance Revolution playlists and more.
RAHH is very much an active project alongside alias HQA. A rising star whose upward trajectory will continue, her current projects see her collaborating with a number of exciting producers including Archie Hamilton, Gorgon City, Roger Sanchez, Ben Westbeech and more.
